On November 1, several
lamian(Chinese Noodle) stores will open
along the hall of 10th floor on Kyoto Station
Building.
From Hokkaido to Kyusyu, noodle stores represented
7 districts are selected for this Noodle
street.
Each area has its own special blend of soup.
Usually most of stores keep it secret though.
I will be visiting there shortly, and so
make a report on this journal later.

In Japan, Feng Shui
風水 (a
Chinese thought of getting luck) has been
a boom for the last couple of years.
One of my friends told me how to turn luck
in one's favor following the way of Feng
Shui's idea.
If you arrange flowers of certain colours
in a crystal vase and put it toward the
south-east direction, you would have your
day.
The colour of flowers is important. You
should have 4 colours in the vase, which
are red, white, pink, and yellow together.
You have to take care of them not being
dried out or gone bad.

crystal vase in our shop is Corolle
of Baccarat.

addition to tablewares which is our main
deals, we make a lot of trials of new products
selling by mail order.
One of them became a conversation piece
and aired on T.V.
The product is called "Renapur",
a Germany make-leather balsam which contains
natural ingredients that breathe new life
into old leather and skins.
It costs 6,000 yen
for 2 sets of 250ml renapur and 4 sets of
sponges. Plus consumption tax of 5% and
shipping charge.

In my childhood, girls liked to collect
Rika-chan dolls which are the Japanese version
of Barbie dolls, and boys liked to collect
beautiful and rare stamps.
Right now I am very interested in angel
goods.
And, there are two angels on my desk which
can be used as ring holders.
It costs ¥500 Japanese yen a piece. If you
want to buy it, please give us a fax.
Besides the wing color of picture, we have
green and blue wing angels.

are not along with, but they are also available
at our store.

I am back to the
office.
As the last issue telling you, I was at
one of our retail shops in Shijo, Kyoto.
The store is 4-story building; on the first
floor there are general goods and porcelain
such as Royal Copenhagen, Wedgwood, Richard
Ginori, Aynsley, and Hermes etc., the second
floor Baccarat, Herend, and Meissen are
on display, the third it is our office,
and on the top floor, a special exhibition
is held usually.
This month's special exhibition is Llyadro
and we have a plenty of must-see items.

Kyoto is a well-known place for sightseeing
area.
There are plenty of impressive events especially
in Autumn.
On coming Oct. 22, Jidai Festival will be
held in Kyoto starting at noon from Kyoto
Imperial Palace.
It was started when Heian Shrine was founded
for commemorating the 1100th anniversary of
capital transfer to Heian.
The special feature of this festival is the
procession of each time & mode of life
from the Enryaku to the Meiji era.

How was your weekend?
In Japan, yesterday was a national holiday,
a Health Sports Day. So we had 3 consecutive
holidays including Saturday and Sunday.
Last Saturday we had a visitor from Germany,
a glass manufacturer and spent several hours
for business meetings.
We have visitors from overseas from time to
time.
I like to meet people overseas because I feel
like receiving some exotic mood through them.
I am very interested in crosscultural differences,
so in that sense, the current job must be
my ideal job.
What I learned from last meeting was that
eating raw fish was no longer limited to Japanese
culture.
I understand that Sushi is very popular overseas,
though.
I was very glad that I could actually experinece
the fact for my self.
It was a great business meeting.

Today, I would like to introduce one of my
favorite porcelain.
I am in love with Princess series of Royal
Copenhagen right now. So far my collection
has been a pair of 24cl/8oz
tea cup & saucer and a covered
sugar bowl.
It is a very lovely and feminine line, I think.
Same as my personality????

The nature of my job as an importer means
that it sometimes happens the delayed arrival
of our purchase from overseas due to the inevitable
circumstances.
We had an order from our customer that should
be delivered by 6 pm yesterday.
And the arrival of our purchase had been delayed
and arrived our head office at 2:00 pm.
The order was 130 pieces with present-wrapping.
Around 4:00pm we have completed our wrappings
and started to deliver them to Osaka. However,
it was a rush hour and difficult to deliver
immediately.
When our staff called the office to tell the
completion of delivery, it was 2min. before
6 o'clock.
What a clse call it was.
But we made it.
Thanks to the united
efforts of a number of people who gave us
hands on this matter.
